A man visiting a friend in Wichita has died after he was bitten by a dog. It happened around 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening in the 400 block of east 37th South.
Cyrus Talkington, 38, from Matfield Green was with friends who had dogs with them outside their home.
Investigators said that at some point the homeowner went inside and one of the dogs bit Talkington on the arm and leg. Neighbors helped get the dog away from him.
Officers were called and found him unconscious and not breathing. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A cause of death had not been determined. But, investigators believe it may have been due to a medical condition, brought on by the stress of the dog bite.
Animal Control removed the dog involved in the incident.
