The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning.
It happened just before 3 a.m., in the 7700 block of S. Broadway near Haysville. Sedgwick County Emergency Communications received an automated crash detection alert from a mobile device in the area. Haysville Police officers, along with Sedgwick County EMS and Fire District 1 responded and discovered a vehicle had crashed into a tree.
Inside the vehicle, first responders found a 43-year-old Haysville man with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, where he later died. A female passenger suffered minor injuries.
