A 52-year-old Wichita man suffered serious injuries after his motorcycle crashed and overturned on southbound I-235 Saturday afternoon.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said the crash happened just before 12:10 p.m., on I-235 about 0.2 miles south of Central.

Troopers said the motorcycle driver, Jerry Dean Cookson, was traveling southbound when he entered a curve at a speed greater than was reasonable for existing road conditions. Cookson lost control of the motorcycle, which continued through the grass median and overturned onto its side. It came to rest about 75 yards into the center median.
