A 64-year-old man suffered critical injuries in an apartment fire Saturday morning.
Wichita Fire crews responded just before 10 a.m. to the Amidon Place Apartments in the 2700 block of N. Amidon. When firefighters arrived, they could see light smoke coming from one of the units and found a small fire on the floor.
The injured man was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation.
The fire was brought under control quickly. There's no word on a cause for the fire or a damage estimate at this time.
