A 32-year-old man is dead following a shooting in a north Wichita park near an event where hundreds were gathered. The shooting in Glen Day Park in the 2800 block of North Grove occurred around 7 pm, near a youth football game where as many as 300 people were gathered. An off-duty police detective was working security at the game when he heard gunshots. The detective found a wounded man and administered CPR until paramedics arrived. The injured man died at a hospital. He’d been shot multiple times. Police are requesting the public's help in identifying a suspect.
