Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems have confirmed an agreement in which Boeing will reacquire the company it spun off 19 years ago when its commercial programs left Wichita. The purchase with Boeing stock is worth roughly $4.7 billion. Wichita Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News she's been talking with Boeing management and they're looking for new opportunities. Wu says she believes those "opportunities" will include Wichita and our "talented workforce."
At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will look at the possible purchase of Park school building for a new homeless shelter. Mayor Wu says the proposed shelter will provide multiple services and resources, aimed at getting people off the streets.
Wu tells KNSS News the fourth-of-July is about more than fireworks displays and picnics. She says Americans should celebrate their liberty and opportunities every day of the year.
Lily Wu commented during Mondays with the Mayor on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
