A fresh blanket of snow covers much of Kansas after falling through the night. Preliminary reports indicate 5-plus inches of new snow across Wichita, 7 inches at Medicine Lodge, and 10-and-a-half inches at Hardtner on the Oklahoma state line in Barber County. Streets and highways are snow-covered across much of Kansas. Schools have cancelled classes today, including Wichita public and Catholic schools. Local and state maintenance crews have been treating streets through the night. Driving conditions are hazardous.
