The Wichita City Council approved street improvement plans for 2025.
The city will pave about 1.5 miles of dirt streets, all located within approximately one block of schools. The price tag: $2 million.
The city will continue their Outsourced Pavement Preservation Program, or OP3 for short. The city plans to preserve 366 lane-miles of roadways next year, using a variety of methods.
City Manager Robert Layton says the city is maintaining more roadways each year and that's good news, especially for residential areas where they get most of their requests.
The OP3 in 2025 will cost $15.5 million, including $2 million to specifically address concrete streets.
