Municipal Primary Elections were held yesterday in Kansas. In Wichita only City Council Districts 3 and 6 held primary elections. The top 2 candidates in the primary move on to the general election in November.
In District 3 incumbent Jared Cerullo received 27% of the votes, and will join Mike Hoheisel who received the most votes, 29%.
In District 6; Maggie Ballard received the most votes with 43%. And Ballard will face incumbent Cindy Claycomb who finished with 41% of the votes.
The only other primary election in Sedgwick County, Park City Ward 1. Angie Carter with 20% of the vote will join Charley Davidson who garnered 70% of the votes cast in the November General Election.
Of the over 68-thousand registered voters eligible to vote in the election, 4,157 actually cast votes... a little over 6% voter turnout. These results are still unofficial, mail in ballots can still be received and counted provided they were postmarked by election day. All results are unofficial until approved by the county's board of canvassers.
