The city of Wichita's Real-time information center is one step closer to reality.
While construction of the center continues at City Hall, it needs the software platform that will bring in all of the real-time information and video and data feeds.
Wichita Police Captain Aaron Moses says they are already talking to Sedgwick County about a cooperative effort with 911 Emergency Communications.
The platform will cost the city $150 thousand per year for up to 1500 video streams. Grants will cover the costs for the first year, and the city is actively searching for more grants so that the city's general fund doesn't have to pick up the tab.
Captain Moses says the R-T-I-C will open sometime in late May or early June.
