We've learned more about a two-car accident in west Wichita Saturday morning that has taken the life of one woman and injured another person.
It was reported around 9:50 a.m., in the northbound lanes of I-235, about a half-mile north of Kellogg.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says a 20-year-old driver was traveling south on I-235 when the vehicle crossed the median and struck another vehicle, driven by a 59-year-old woman, head-on. Both people were pinned in their respective vehicles for a time but were extricated. Both were taken to a local hospital where the 59-year-old woman died.
Her name has not been released, pending notification of family.
