One man was killed, another hospitalized after a crash in western Kansas Wednesday afternoon. It happened 6 miles south of Great Bend in Barton County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says just after 3:30 p.m. equipment on an oil field truck failed. The truck then crossed the center line, crashing head on into a pickup truck.
The driver of that pickup was killed. He is identified as 59-year-old Gerald Hinson of Great Bend. A passenger, 23-year-old Ryan Kohman of Great Bend, was hospitalized with serious injuries. The semi truck driver was not injured.
