One person injured in Wichita house fire

One person suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after a fire early Sunday morning, one of a trio of blazes that Wichita fire crews battled.

Just after 2:10 a.m., a house fire was reported in the 400 block of N. Sheridan. Crews reported smoke and fire from behind a window when they arrived but were able to bring it under control before 2:30.

Around 6 a.m., an apartment fire was reported in the 1300 block of West 42nd Street South, near Seneca and MacArthur Road. Crews knocked down a couch fire and no injuries were reported.

At 9:45 a.m., a house fire was reported near 19th and Tyler, in northwest Wichita. Wichita Fire crews reported the fire was coming from the garage of the residence. One person was transported to a local hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries due to smoke inhalation.
