A pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle on the Kansas Turnpike Friday night has died.
The Turnpike Authority says the accident was reported just after 8:10 p.m., south of Mulvane, in the northbound lanes of the roadway.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said a vehicle had stalled on the inside shoulder against the barrier wall. A northbound vehicle struck an 18-year-old woman in the outside lane of travel. She died from her injuries.
Traffic was diverted at mile marker 19 and the roadway was shut down at mile marker 21.
