Pedestrian struck and killed overnight: driver being sought

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A female pedestrian was struck and killed on the valley’s east side early Monday morning, and Metro Police looking the driver who hit her.

The incident happened around 3:20am on Flamingo between Paradise and University Center. Police say the woman, who has yet to be identified, was walking outside of a marked crosswalk when she was struck.

According to Metro, a black 2013 Dodge Challenger was traveling eastbound on Flamingo in the middle travel lane behind another unknown vehicle. As the vehicles approached Palos Verdes Street, the Dodge Challenger moved from the middle lane to the right lane. The pedestrian entered the path of the Dodge Challenger as the vehicle crossed the intersection.

After striking the victim, Metro says the Dodge then swerved to the left of three eastbound travel lanes, with the pedestrian on the front of the vehicle. The pedestrian was then drug underneath the Dodge Challenger as it continued eastbound. The pedestrian was then deposited from the rear of the Dodge Challenger and came to rest in the eastbound travel lanes. The Dodge Challenger fled the collision scene eastbound on Flamingo.
