The Wichita Police Department has made an arrest in a sexual assault case of a girl, 15. The investigation began in April 2021.
The Wichita Police Department, (WPD), announced Wednesday the arrest of Sean Bird, 44, on charges of aggravated indecent liberties with a child relating to the investigation.
On April 10th, 2021, at approximately 11:00 p.m., WPD Officers were called to the 3600 block of E Harry for a sexual assault report. They contacted a girl, 15, who reported being sexually assaulted. After further evidence was obtained, Bird was identified as a suspect.
On Tuesday morning at approximately 6:00 a.m., WPD Officers contacted Bird in the 6100 block of S. Kansas and took him into custody. He was transported to the Sedgwick County Jail and booked on three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
The case will be presented to the District Attorney's office.
