Wichita police are investigating following a fatal hit and run accident, with shots fired. It happened around 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at the intersection of 13th and Oliver.
A police spokesman says officers found an injured man and began CPR. Investigators determined that the man was riding a bicycle when he was hit by a passing vehicle.
Witnesses also reported that shots were fired at the bicyclist by the driver of that vehicle. The bicyclist was declared dead shortly afterwards.
Police found and arrested the driver, a woman, who lived in the area. Investigators said there had been an altercation between the man and the woman, but it wasn't determined what led to the incident.
It's wasn't immediately known if the man died due to being hit by the vehicle, or if he was fatally wounded by the shooting.
The Wichita Eagle reports Saturday morning that Charity Charmon Blackmon, 31, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, driving with a suspended license and other charges.
