A man suffered critical injuries after he was shot late Saturday afternoon in southeast Wichita.
It happened just before 6 p.m. inside a laundromat at Lincoln and Edgemoor.
Wichita Police Sgt. Michael Russell told our partners at 12 News that officers arrived on the scene and learned the suspect had fled the area on foot. The Kansas Highway Patrol and K-9 units assisted in a search for the suspect, who was later found and taken into custody.
The victim underwent surgery and officials say his injuries are non-life threatening.
Police believe the victim and suspect knew each other but have yet to determine a motive for the shooting.
Police are investigating another shooting, after the victim walked into St. Joseph hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police responded to the scene around 7:40 Saturday morning.
The 29-year-old man was walking in a parking lot at Pawnee and Hillside when he was shot in the lower body. No arrests have been made in the case.
