A man has been released from the hospital and was immediately arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, in the death of an acquaintance.

Kurt Peterson, 67, was stabbed multiple times in a home in the 100 block of N. Glenn this past Tuesday. Officers were alerted by the man’s caretaker, after he was found on the floor in the kitchen.
James Shaw, 60, of Wichita, was also in the home when the caretaker arrived. After examining evidence and interviewing people, police arrested Shaw.
They say Shaw and Petersen knew each other, and this was not a random incident. He has now been booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree murder through a Kansas Department of Corrections arrest and detain order.
The Kansas Department of Corrections plans to present the case to the Sedgwick County District Attorney.
