The Wichita Police Department is investigating a shooting in the 1600 block of North Waco.

It happened just before 1:00 p.m. Friday afternoon.
Officers arrived and found a man in his 20's in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. While the man was slipping in and out of consciousness he managed to tell police the shooting happened in the area of 16th and Waco, before being transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
Investigators are working to find witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
