A shooting took place in a parking lot near the Keeper of the Plains in downtown Wichita. It happened around 4:50 p.m. Friday.
A young man, 18, was taken to an area hospital in serious condition. Investigators said they learned that shots had been fired in the parking area by an individual. Witnesses said one man had exited a vehicle and fired shots at the 18-year-old, who was in a different car.
Officers are working to determine what took place, leading up to the shooting. No arrests have been made.
