Wichita Police will have an enhanced presence at Towne East Square Saturday to deter an illegal "teen takeover".
The department became aware of trending social media posts promoting the event. During a “teen takeover,” large numbers of teenagers visit a location. While the gatherings can be harmless, they occasionally lead to fighting, property damage or injuries.
Police say that the mall has the right to eject anyone from their property and add that parents should speak with their children about the consequences of attending the event.
