Wichita police say two teenagers who were street racing were arrested after a boy, 9, was seriously hurt during the race. Witnesses reported seeing two trucks racing Wednesday evening in south Wichita.
Police say one of the trucks hit the boy, who was hospitalized with serious injuries that were not considered life threatening. The drivers fled but were apprehended.
One of the drivers, 16, was booked into juvenile detention. The other driver, 17, was arrested. The incident came less than two weeks after an 18-year-old was killed while street racing in east Wichita.
