One dead, another injured after a shooting north of downtown Wichita. According to the Wichita Police Department it happened Monday just before 5:30 p.m. near 10th and Fairview.
Officers arriving on the scene found a 20-year-old male in an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, another man arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. That person is in critical but stable condition. The person who dropped off the shooting victim drove away from the hospital but was later detained.
Police say they believe the driver was involved in the incident. They believe this was not a random incident and say the investigation is ongoing.
