The Wichita Eagle has been reporting on apparent problems with Sedgwick County Emergency Services ... including longer response times, not enough ambulances, personnel shortages, and employee discontent with management. County Commission Chair Pete Meitzner tells KNSS News the commission is aware of complaints and has contracted with an independent law firm to interview the people involved and report to the commission. Meitzner says the county commission will consider options after they see the report.
The Sedgwick County Commission will get its first look at a budget during Wednesday's weekly commission meeting. Meitzner says county manager Tom Stolz will present the proposed spending plan. The final budget will be approved in August. Meitzner commented during his weekly chat with Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
