A bill currently on Governor Laura Kelly’s desk waiting to be signed into law would give Kansas racetracks protection from noise complaints.
The Kansas Motorsports Venue Protection Act recently passed through the Kansas House and Senate. It aims to give tracks a certain immunity to noise complaints from nearby residents.
The bill, introduced during this year’s legislative session, only applies to tracks built before residential areas were built next to them.
Upon Kelly's signature, Kansas would be the third state in the county to pass such a law. Ten other states around the country have proposed similar bills.
