Sunday marks the 21st anniversary of the 9-11 attacks. In Wichita the day will be marked with a special program at Veterans Memorial Park.

The program will take place at the Operation Freedom Memorial in the park at 339 Veterans Pkwy, in downtown Wichita, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

The McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard will present the Colors to commence the program.  After the speaker's remarks, the Marine Corps League Detail will fire a three-volley rifle salute, followed by the playing of Taps to conclude the event.

The commemoration will reflect upon the attacks of 9-11 as well as the subsequent response by the U.S. military, also known as the Global War on Terror.
