Salvation Army kicks off Red Kettle Christmas Campaign

The Salvation Army kicks off the 2022 Red Kettle Christmas Campaign this Saturday, November 12th at 10:00am. This year’s event will be held at Generations Antiques and Outdoor Market, 767 N West Street in Wichita. Special appearances from Santa, Kaptain Kettle, Friends University Brass Quintet, and more. Enjoy hot apple cider, coffee, donuts, more sweet treats, and Christmas music.

The Salvation Army announced this year’s Christmas Chair, Wichita City Council member Bryan Frye. Frye will appear and speak at several events for The Salvation Army this Christmas season, including the Red Kettle Kick Off. Frye is a lifelong Wichitan with roots in the community. A graduate of Wichita Southeast, Wichita State University, and a recent graduate of Leadership Kansas.

Area Command Officer, Major Merrill Powers shares, “We are so grateful to have Bryan as our Christmas Chair this year. His love for and dedication to the mission of The Salvation Army is truly inspiring. He’s been volunteering with us for more than 20 years. We are excited to see his new, festive Christmas attire this year!”

In addition to online donations, QR and tap codes will be available again this year at all our Red Kettle locations. Red Kettles will be out after Thanksgiving at most Walmarts, Dillons’, Sam’s Clubs, and Hobby Lobbies. Donation can be made to The Salvation Army, 350 N.
