On Friday, Aug. 23, the Kansas Department of Transportation will close a section of northbound/southbound North Hydraulic Avenue in Wichita. According to a KDOT press release, the closure is necessary to erect a girder. The work will occur from 5 a.m. to noon on Aug. 23, after which the ramps will be reopened.
Motorists exiting westbound on K-96 onto North Hydraulic Avenue will be restricted to right turns toward East 37th Street. The eastbound K-96 on-ramp from North Hydraulic Avenue will remain closed. The on- and off-ramps at Hydraulic Avenue and northbound I-135 will stay open.
Businesses within the closure area will still have direct access to their facilities. KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone.
