Sedgwick County officials took another step to purchasing a new home for their administration offices.
At Wednesday's meeting, the Sedgwick County Commission approved a resolution to make earnest money payments totaling $500 thousand for the potential acquisition of the former Murfin Building at 250 N. Water in downtown Wichita.
A previous payment of $60 thousand allowed the county to do their due diligence actions to see if the building could serve their needs.
County administration offices are currently renting space at the downtown Ruffin Building at Douglas and Broadway.
