At Wednesday's meeting, the Sedgwick County Commission will proclaim Family Promise Week. Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News Family Promise is an organization serving primarily homeless women and children, giving them food, shelter, and other services.
Baty says the state and federal governments take tax money, and then it's up to local government to apply to get some of that money back. Baty says he favors keeping the money and using it locally. He finds the entire grant process frustrating.
Baty commented during his weekly appearance on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
