The Sedgwick County Commission approved a $500 thousand incentive agreement to assist in the expansion and construction of a proposed 1 million square-foot semiconductor manufacturing facility in Bel Aire.

The incentive will support workforce development and training and is contingent upon Integra Technologies securing $2 billion in CHIPS Act funding from the federal government.

The company plans to build the facility at K-254 and Rock Road. It will provide employment opportunities for approximately 2,500 people, with an average salary of $51 thousand per year.

Commissioner Ryan Baty called the announcement a big-time moment for the community.

Construction should take about 2 years to complete.

The company has also secured $300 million in state funding, along with incentives from the city of Bel Aire.
