At Wednesday's meeting, the Sedgwick County Commission will consider adopting a paid parental leave policy. Commission Chair Pete Meitzner tells KNSS News the policy would cover childbirth or adoption and would probably last 4 to 6 weeks. Meitzner says "we've checked with Spirit and Textron".
Meitzner says parental leave allows an employee to experience "that initial bonding and recovery". He says out of about 3.000 county employees, some 50 could have used such a policy last year.
Meitzner commented during his weekly chat with Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
