County Appraiser Mark Clark will brief the Sedgwick County Commission on property tax valuation trends at Wednesday's weekly meeting. Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News 87 percent of county residents will see their property valuation go up by an average of 9 percent, even though the mill levy will remain at 7.5 percent. That means your total tax bill will increase. Baty says "that's the way the math works".
But that valuation may be appealed. Baty says about 50 percent of people who appeal get a change in their valuation.
Baty commented during his weekly chat with Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
