The Sedgwick County Commission has deferred a motion on an amendment regarding renewable energy systems.

County staff announced that they are in negotiations with a potential consultant, that would offer a national prospective on the issue.

Commissioner David Dennis says it's important to know more about best practices when it comes to renewable energy, not only to help the county in the short term but down the road as well.

The county will discuss the amendment again after June 4th.

Commissioners also revised the county's debt financing policy, which will now focus on measures used by the S&P credit rating when evaluating the County’s credit worthiness for a AAA rating. That includes budgetary flexibility, liquidity and debt levels.
