Property tax increases loom for most Sedgwick County residents as home and business values continue to climb, according to the county appraiser.

The appraisal data shows 87% of residential properties increased in value, with a median rise of 9%. Commercial properties followed a similar trend, with nearly 75% seeing higher valuations. Agricultural land was the only category that experienced a notable decline in value.

Property owners will find out in early March whether their value increased, stayed the same or decreased. On March 1, the Appraiser’s Office will mail notices to owners whose property valuation changed. Those that did not change will not get a notice. All valuations will be posted on the Appraiser’s Office website on March 1.
