Sedgwick County has announced the hiring of Lynn Packer as interim Director of Public Works/County Engineer.

Packer is currently the county’s Deputy Director of Public Works. The move was necessary due to the retirement of Jim Weber, after 40 years with the county. Weber told the commission that he appreciated working for the excellent team assembled there.
Chairman David Dennis called Weber a rock for the county. There's no word on when a permanent replacement will be hired.
