On the recommendation from the CDC and FDA, the Sedgwick County Health Department will not provide the one-dose Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccine today. Anyone who scheduled an appointment for the J&J vaccine will be offered Pfizer.
There is a very rare side effect that six people have experienced related to a blood clot. If a person received the J&J vaccine and within three weeks developed a severe headache, abdominal pain, leg pain, or shortness of breath, they should contact their doctor.
