Sedgwick County plans to commit remaining ARPA funds

The Sedgwick County Commission will committ the remainder of its ARPA federal funds at Wednesday's meeting. Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News the deadline for spending the pandemic relief money is still a few years away. But the county would like to avoid any more "guidance changes" from Uncle Sam. The county wants to commit the spending by the end of this year.

Baty says the county has received more than $200 million in pandemic reflief money from the federal government.

Alsot Wednesday's meeting the Commission will recognize retiring Deputy County Clerk Karen Bailey. Baliey's been with the county 22 years. Baty says Bailey "is great" and "we hate to lose her".

Baty commented during his weekly chat with Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
