After a one day delay, Sedgwick County will complete a recount canvass this afternoon at 4 p.m. in the Historic Courthouse in downtown Wichita.

The board was supposed to announce the results of the recount for the “Value Them Both” amendment at 8 a.m. Saturday. That recount had to be postponed after Election Commissioner Angela Caudillo told County Manager Tom Stolz quote: “I found some things that I just wasn’t 100 percent comfortable with and I wanted to make sure and get it right.”
The recount was scheduled to be completed and certified by 5 p.m. Saturday.
The results from the other eight Kansas counties that recounted ballots found fewer than 35 changed votes from the Aug. 2 election, in which voters rejected a ballot measure that would have removed protections for abortion rights from the Kansas Constitution. It failed by 18 percentage points or 165-thousand votes statewide.
