Law enforcement agencies across the U.S. are responding to TikTok posts warning of shooting and bomb threats at schools. The posts circulating online warned that multiple schools would receive shooting and bomb threats for Friday, Dec. 17th.
Officials are assuring parents the viral posts were not considered credible. TikTok said it was working with law enforcement to investigate.
In a statement Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter said "The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office and Wichita Police Department are monitoring the situation closely. At this time there is no known credible threat to any school in the Wichita/Sedgwick County area. As always, we ask the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to their local law enforcement."
