At Wednesday's meeting, the Sedgwick County Commission will again consider spending federal Covid relief dollars. Commission Chair Pete Meitzner tells KNSS News the county has been assessing community needs, and a summary of those needs has been gathered. Now the money goes into a "bucket" for eventual distribution to businesses and non-profits.
Extra federal subsidies for unemployed Americans have run out. Will that have an immediate impact on those "Help Wanted" signs we see everywhere? Meitzner says it will be "a big step" toward getting people back to work.
The baseball season is nearing its end for the Wichita Wind Surge and the new Riverfront Stadium. Meitzner tells KNSS News he thinks the season has been a success and people really like the new stadium.
