The Grand 50-year Re-opening of the Sedgwick County Zoo is Thursday. County Commission Chair Pete Meitzner tells KNSS News the zoo has grown from two domestic farm habitats to more than 3,000 animals and 400 species. The zoo features a new front entrance.
Meitzner says there is lots of commiunity support in public and private funding for the number-one outdoor visitor attraction in Kansas.
