EMP Shield announced Monday that a roughly $2 billion investment in the form of a semiconductor manufacturing factory that would generate 1,200 jobs is on its way to eastern Kansas.
The producer intends to spend $1.9 billion building a computer chip factory in Burlington. Almost 1,000 jobs, with an average salary of $66,000 per year, will be created by the plant.
