Sedgwick County Sheriff Deputies were shot at while serving a warrant in Haysville Wednesday afternoon. It led to an hours long standoff.
Officers responded to the call around 3:45 p.m. from the 8100 block of S. Berniece St., near 79th and Broadway. The suspect fired shots from the home around 9 p.m., and our news partners at KSN reported that law enforcement deployed gas in response.
79th Street South was shut down between Seneca and Broadway, residents near the incident were told to shelter in place. The suspect was taken into custody around 11:30 p.m. There were no injuries reported.
