
Four students have been arrested after Salina police investigated an alleged gun threat at Salina South High School.

Investigators say a student overheard a conversation at lunch Thursday about shooting up the school. The student told thier parent, who in turn reported it to authorities. The students were identified after the School Resource Officer reviewed video from the cafeteria.
A 17-year-old, a 16-year-old, and two 15-year-olds were booked into juvenile detention.
Salina Interim Police Chief Sean Morton said in a news release, that “This is an example where a citizen’s tip has led to the quick arrest of individuals involved in criminal acts committed at Salina South High School,”
In Hutchinson, a student, 12, was taken into custody, after bringing a loaded gun to school. It happened at Hutchinson Middle School - 7.
Police say a parent reported that the suspect pointed a gun at their son on Thursday. Hutchinson Police Chief Jeffery Hooper says officers discovered a loaded weapon in the student's back-pack early Friday morning.
