
Garden City Police announced that an arrest has been made in the murder of a restaurant owner in September of 2019.
At the time of his death, Ernie Ortiz, 69, had owned the El Conquistador restaurant for thirty-nine years. Police responded to a man-down call in the area and found Ortiz lying in a parking lot with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a area hospital, where he died of his injuries.
A suspect was arrested at the time, but was later released as the charges were dismissed.
On Wednesday, a woman was arrested with the help of the US Marshalls Service, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The suspect is expected to be returned to Kansas where formal charges are pending.
