The KBI and the Ulysses police Department are investigating the shooting of a teenager in a park Wednesday evening. A resident who lives near Russ Binney Park called police after hearing shots fired. Officers found a 14 year-old male with gunshot wounds. Preliminary information indicates four males and two females were in the park when the 14 year-old was struck by a round from a handgun that one of the teens possessed. The victim was taken to Bob Wilson Memorial hospital and then flown to Ascension Via Christi in Wichita where he is currently in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing.
