Here come the first snowstorms of February, expected to affect the entire state of Kansas.
There's a chance for lighter snow on Tuesday morning, then heavier snow is expected beginning Tuesday evening, when a Winter Storm Watch will go into effect.
Snow will be more active by Wednesday morning, and travel will be hazardous; snow will move out of the rest of the area through Wednesday night.
Heavy snowfall rates of one inch per hour and low visibilities will be possible at times.
These storms also bring the return of arctic cold; the low temperature on Wednesday night after the snowfall is expected to bottom out at 5°.
