
What is being described as a road rage incident left three people injured after a crash in east Wichita Sunday afternoon. According to the Wichita Police Department officers first received a report of a disturbance with a weapon around 12:45 p.m. at Towne East Square.
Upon arrival at the scene officers were told that someone in a vehicle had brandished a handgun at a second car parked near the first. When officers arrived, the cars left. There was a brief pursuit of one of the cars involved before the police claim the chase was called off.
Shortly after, there was a crash at Kellogg Drive and Oliver. Four vehicles were involved in the crash. Only one of the cars was involved in the earlier call. Three people were taken to the hospital. Police say two were suspects who were involved in the first call and that one of them was only able to get out of the car after jaws of life were utilized. The investigation is ongoing.
